Brag information: Canine Hoopers of Canada became an official organization in 2023 and had their first trial in March 2024. The goal is to build distance handling using hoops as a ground-level obstacle. CHC courses are comprised of hoops, barrels, tunnels and gates. As of November 10, Chessie became the first English Springer spaniel, and actually the first spaniel of any kind, to earn a title! She now adds BHDC, Beginner Hoopers Dog of Canada, to her name. Carolyn and Chessie have previously earned her NW-Team 3 title from Fenzi Nosework Team and will continue on with CHC, nosework, and agility adventures.

Patrick ventured into the Rally ring this year, earning both his Rally Novice and Intermediate titles. He earned a couple points towards his Am Championship, and showed well at the ESSFTA National Specialty-placing 4th in the Open dog class, and earning his first AKC Rally Novice leg with a Perfect Score and High in Class. I am really looking forward to getting this guy into the obedience ring this year. He's both pretty and smart!

Trixie earned her CD in May with some decent scores and one first place with a 196.5. In August we trialled in IGP and Trixie earned the final level of tracking in the IGP which for tracking only is her FPr3 title. You get scored in IGP tracking and Trixie earned a Good score of 80. We had a scary start with deer tracks on the first leg but after that she was bang on and every turn was on a dime. That was such a thrill watching her do her magic at the end of a 30 foot line. Trixie earned her Scent Detection Interior, Scent Detection Exterior to earn the Scent Detection Master title in September. That was a great day! Those Interior searches we found the most challenging. As soon as Trixie gets her Certificates for the SDM she will be eligible for the Silver Versatility Award with CKC.

Brag Information: Saoirse and I had a fun year in 2024, interspersing our barn hunt weekends with rally and obedience. Saoirse thinks rally is a blast, we completed her RI (rally intermediate) in March, as well as novice obedience (CD,) followed by RA (advanced) in June with a HIC under Norma Schaffer. We got our RE (excellent) in September. In June we headed south of the border for an AKC RN, followed by a CD in October. Saoirse has become a more consistent barn hunter this year and earned her RATCH in May and then her master barn hunt championship (RATCHX) in October. Along the way, she added 4 new games titles to end up with her crazy 8s double platinum silver in November. Her titles this year have brought her to CKC’s versatility bronze. Many thanks to Debby White and Wendy Bessemer for breeding such a wonderful performance companion.

He won the breed 5 out of 6 times over the specialty weekend with entries in the breed as high as 39 with 18 of those being specials. The judges from Australia, Chile, Argentina and Canada. We also attempted our very first caro rally competition where Sterling achieved two qualifying runs. Sterling is truly the epitome of versatile and is up to try his heart out in everything and anything.

So far in 2023 She has already won multiple group placements.

We are thrilled to announce we have a new Champion in the house. Rey made it to one show in 2020 in NFLD where she picked up 5 points and a sporting group 4th, as well as 4 Best Puppy In Group and 1 Best Puppy In Show ending the year #4 English Springer Spaniel in Canada. She also got her Novice Trick Title at 10 weeks of age. It was a late start to the 2021 season for her but after 2 weekends in September she had her Canadian Championship Title.

Bradley went to his first show entered as a 12-18 month puppy and in three days obtained is Championship. Not only that but his first show netted a Group Third, followed by a Group Second then a Group First and Best in Show!
By the end of his first week of shows he had 6 Group Firsts, A Best in Show and 3 Reserve Best in Shows with just eight entries.
Three months later when we found another two show weekend to enter he garnered 3 more Group Firsts, a Sporting Group Specialty 2nd and another Reserve Best in Show.
At last ranking he is the Number One English Springer Spaniel, Top 10 Sporting Dog and in the Top 50 of All Breeds with just 4 weekends of shows and 15 times in the ring. We look forward to Bradley maturing and entering the ring again in the New Year.

Shown only 3 weekends she is halfway to her Grand Championship and is currently ranked # 4 ESS in Canada. In 2019 at 10 years of age Buddy went out for three weekends and became the #1 Springer Spaniel finishing in grand style with a Group One under Spaniel Specialist Sandra Lex. Buddy has been one of the Top Five ESS 6 years in total. He won 72 Best of Breeds and converted 59 of those into Group placements of which 19 were Group Ones. He also won the ESSCC Nationals in 2012, was Best Of Opp in 2013 and AOM in 2014. His last National appearance was 2016 were he took Best Veteran in Sweepstakes. He has also achieved a US Best In Specialty at the Dallas Fort Worth English Springer Spaniel Association in 2013. Skye had a successful weekend at the Moncton Kennel Club Rally Obedience Event. 3 for 3 Advanced Rally Obedience with 3 High in Class Wins.

While Ed was recovering from Flu and Double Pneumonia this past Winter, our dogs “Willie” CT CKC CH Bryden’s Waltz Across Texas, TDU, RN, CGC,CGCA, CGCU, TKA, CKC TD and “Annie” CT Bryden’s Pistols ‘N Petticoats, TDU, RN, CGC, CGCA, CKCU, TKA, CKC TD, TDX worked hard to train for all three levels of the new AKC Trick Titles, (Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) and the CGC Community and CGC Urban Titles.
The AKC started offering Achiever Dog Certificates for all dogs who title in more than one area and these multi titled dogs received that certificate as well. They each earned five new titles and the Achiever Dog certificate in March and look forward to earning more titles in the US and Canada in 2018. He also attended in December his first US shows and came away with 4 Best of Winners awards including 2 Specialties/Supported entries and even won the Breed from the classes over 5 Champions to pick up 3 majors and now has 13 of the 15 points he needs for his US Championship. Thank you to the Cobequid Kennel Club and the Rally judge D Desjardine for putting on a great event this weekend. Sam picked up her Rally Novice Title at 8 months of age, we moved her up to Rally Advanced on the second day and she went on to take Advanced High In Class. I am so proud of my 8mth old girl. Skye also had a great weekend - 2 qualifying Novice scores and her Rally Novice Title with scores of 98 and 97 good enough for 2 - 2nd place finishes. Both will work on there rally advanced titles in 2018.

Cruz and Skye are truly special springers. In October they completed a Special Needs Course with St. John Ambulance that certifies them to participate in "See Spot Read" for children. Every week we visit the Windsor Elementary School and help children with special needs read without pressure. They also go into the local Senior Residence to bring cheer to the residences. So proud of them.

At the Stephenville Kennel Club All Breed Show – Winners Dog (5pt major), Stephenville Kennel Club All Breed Show – Best of Winners (5pt major), and San Antonio English Springer Spaniel Club Specialty – Best of Winners (5pt major). In 2 days Cruz secured 3 - 5 point major wins in the US. "Annie" On April 23, 2017 in Williamston, Michigan earned her TDX (Tracking Dog Excellent) title which since she already earned her VST completed the requirements to become an AKC Champion Tracker. "Willie" On September 17th in Overland Park, Kansas earned his VST (Variable Surface Tracker) title which completed his requirements to become an AKC Champion Tracker. According to the AKC records there have only been 19 ESS to earn the VST title in 22 years. ( Annie is one of those 19 too.) Because both Willie and Annie earned the optional title TDU (Tracking Dog Urban) title they are the only AKC Champion Trackers with all 5 titles. Both dogs will receive an invitation to the AKC Tracking Invitational when it is held in 2018. In CKC Willie earned his TD (Tracking Dog) title and his CH (Breed Champion). In CKC Annie earned her TD (Tracking Dog) title and also her TDX (Tracking Dog Excellent) title, this put her halfway to her CKC Tracking Championship.

In October he entered his second agility trial and earned his sixth title of the year, his AGIJS title in agility. He also had two qualifying runs towards his AGIS and NPS titles.

Quigley completed his title in October 2016, all legs won with High in Class placement, and he also won High in Trial on his final leg! A first for both of us!
